This is the Gaslamp Quarter arch to be found at the foot of Fifth Avenue. The building the background is the Hard Rock Hotel. The center portion which includes the words "Gaslamp Quarter" spelled out in incandescent lights. The words "Historic Heart of San Diego" is partially lit in neon. As another example of our nations crumbleing infrastructure much of the neon lighting and several of the incandescent bulps are not functioning.
